FAQ
1) Do I have to pre-register?
Everyone must be registered before entering the exhibit hall. We recommend you register in advance to save time. If you do not pre-register, you can register once you arrive, but the lines may be long.
2) What employers will be there?
There will be various industries represented. To view the complete list, please refer to the "Participating Employers" tab on the home page. http://www.indycareerfair09.com
3) Is this open to the public?
Yes, it is open to the public.
4) Is there a fee?
There is no fee for jobseekers to attend.
5) Where should I park?
See parking instructions and a map on the home page. http://www.indycareerfair09.com parking in the lot just south of Lucas Oil Stadium is only $5 for the day. Space is limited though. The map shows all nearby parking.
6) What should I wear?
Business attire.
7) When should I arrive?
The event runs from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. so you can come anytime between those hours. The busiest times will be early in the morning and around lunch time. Don’t wait until late in the day. Give yourself plenty of time to talk to as many companies as possible.

You may also want to participate in the educational workshops http://www.indycareerfair09.com that will be held throughout the day so plan accordingly.
8) How should I prepare?
a. Know yourself: What are your skills, strengths, interests, and values? Try to identify specific experiences where you have demonstrated your strengths. Back up all your skills with specific examples to make you a stronger candidate. Bottom line, know what you have to offer an employer.

b. Prepare a list of questions to ask the employers you're interested in. It is common for informal interviews to take place on the spot at a career fair. Interviews are not a one-sided affair, and having questions to ask prospective employers will make them more confident that you're interested in working for their company.

c. Update your resume and list of references.

d. Research the participating companies to determine if they are a good fit for you and you for them.

e. Determine if you would like to attend any of the educational sessions http://www.indycareerfair09.com/ and plan your day accordingly. Seating is limited and available on a first come basis.

f. If you have not already registered with Indiana Career Connect, the state’s on-line job services site, consider doing this before the career fair. There will be opportunities to register at the fair, but lines may be long.

g. Make childcare arrangements in advance.
9) What should I bring?
Remember to bring copies of your resume, a list of references, personal business cards if you have them, a few pens, a folder or portfolio, and some sort of note-taking device. Keep track of the recruiters with whom you speak and send follow-up notes to the ones who interest you.
